What We Do

Oregon’s Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCD) are special districts, much like a fire district or an irrigation district.

SWCDs work to conserve their area's natural resources. They do so by working with local landowners and natural resource managers from organizations at the local, state, and national level. Some efforts that SWCDs are known for include: controling soil erosion, developing water resources, increasing water quality & quanity, preserving wildlife habitat, conserving natural beauty, and promoting collaborative conservation efforts to protect and enhance healthy watershed functions.
